SafeLink Wireless

Lifeline is a federally-sponsored program that provides a discount on communication services to eligible individuals and families. Eligibility is determined by income and/or participation in state or Federal support programs. Through Lifeline, SafeLink subscribers are eligible to receive a mobile phone and a monthly discount on their service. SafeLink benefits are limited to one line per household. SafeLink Wireless is a service of TracFone Wireless, Inc., a Verizon company.

SafeLink Wireless

The LifeLine program, established in 1985, provides discounts on telephone service for eligible low-income consumers. It is administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The LifeLine benefit initially provided a $10 monthly discount for landline phones. In 2008, the program was made available for wireless phone service.
